Ꮰudaism is one of the oldest religions in the world today, it is a religious tradition with origins dating back nearly
four thousand years. Judaism traces its history back to the creation of mankind, but the explicitly Jewish historical origins begin with Abraham and the Hebrews.

According to religious Jews, the Biblical patriarch (male head of family or tribe) Abraham was the first Jew. Rabbinic literature records that he was the first to reject preach monotheism. As a result, God promised he would have children, starting with Isaac, who would carry on his work and inherit the land of Israel (then called Canaan) after having been exiled and redeemed. God sent the patriarch Jacob and his children to Egypt; after they eventually became enslaved, God sent Moses to redeem the members of the ancient Hebrew nation from slavery. After the Exodus from Egypt, God led them to Mount Sinai and gave them the Torah, and eventually brought them to the Land of Israel.

Torah is a Hebrew word meaning teaching, instruction, or especially Law. It primarily refers to the first section of the Tanakh – the first five books of the Hebrew Bible, or the Five Books of Moses. Jews also use the word Torah, in a wider sense, to refer to the entire spectrum of authoritative Jewish religious teachings throughout history.
